Unfortunately, the cleanliness of the hotel left much to be desired. The shower drain in my first room was clogged, and it took too long to get resolved. The breakfast was disappointing, not fresh and not worth the extra charge, and the staff seemed indifferent to addressing these issues.

I stayed for 4 nights in a Superior Quadruple Room, and I loved the breakfast selection! The location was perfect, as it provided easy access to major attractions. Plus, dining at the hotel's restaurant was a good experience with delicious offerings.

Access to the hotel is a bit tricky with steps to the reception, and don't bump your head on that low door! The toilet could use a little TLC, but the rest sparkled enough to make you smile.

A Memorable Stay with Friendly Staff

I had a fantastic family stay! I appreciated the warm welcomes from the staff who eagerly assisted us with our needs. While the A/C took some time to adjust, the nearby dining options outshone the hotel's offerings. I highly suggest exploring local restaurants for authentic meals.

My stay at Ethnica Hotel Old City for 7 days was excellent, largely due to its prime location near Sirkeci station, allowing easy access to many of Istanbul's beautiful sights within a short walking distance. The room exceeded expectations with speedy WiFi, satellite TV, a mini cooler, air conditioning, and a complimentary delicious Turkish breakfast. The staff, especially Seyit bey, were incredibly helpful, providing local insights and tips that enhanced my trip.

The room was well-maintained and reflected a dedication to cleanliness, enhancing the overall comfort. The staff demonstrated kindness, especially a waiter who provided helpful insights about airport travel. However, the breakfast options were limited and did not live up to expectations, and the access to the hotel was somewhat challenging due to steps. Insufficient maintenance in certain areas also detracted from my experience.

It was just a commendable fit for a speedy visit in Istanbul with good value. The breakfast selection was surprisingly decent, providing a nice start to the day. Look out for the menu details to avoid surprises with what's included.
